Artworks are created in the artists own style and interpretation of the subject matter. By requesting a commission, the artist has full creative freedom to express clients ideas on paper to the best of their ability and to provide the client with an outcome that will hopefully be of satisfactory.

 

Style: Whimsical Fantasy, Surrealism, Minimalism.

Drawing Technique: Simple or Complex Line Drawing, Stippling (Dotwork), Drawing Within A Drawing, Scribbling or Silhouette.

Subject: Wild Animals, Nautical and Sealife, Botanical Flowers and Plants, Landscape Forests, Woodlands, Lakes, Mountains, Mythical or Pre-Historic Creatures, Space, Mandala Pattern Design, Log Cabins, Tree Houses or Bird Houses.

I Will Not Do: Fan Art, Portraits (people or pets), Photorealistic, Draw From Photographs, Draw An Existing Design, Drawing Not In The Artists Own Style, Horror Or Dark Art, Offensive Inappropriate Content or Coloured Artworks.

Private Commission Terms

These terms form the commission contract between us and client and by requesting a commission from us the client agrees to the Private Commission Terms as stated below and the Terms and Conditions / Privacy Policy. There's no need to sign a commission agreement for these terms to apply.

(1) Requesting A Commission

  • Please provide as much detail as possible in a clear and concise manner when filling in the commission form for us to clearly understand what is required, client must also include in their description the orientation of the paper (vertical or horizontal). Client is responsible for the accuracy of information they provide to us upon submitting the commission form. Please do not provide any financial details, as it is not needed at this time to complete the form. We have the right to either accept or decline any commission request that comes through. We may decline a commission request if we feel uncomfortable with the request, is too complicated or for whatever reason are unable to fulfill the clients request. Commission form is shown below.

(2) Confirmation Of Availability

  • A confirmation email will be sent shortly to the client if their commission has been accepted and will be given a start date (we work through commissions in the order of our waiting list). Once the client has emailed us to confirm the start date they will be asked to make payment. If the client has not confirmed the start date with us after 5 working days their commission will be cancelled for non-correspondence.

(3) Copyright

  • (3.1) All artworks are copyright of © Sharon Godwin trading as S Godwin Studio All Rights Reserved.
  • (3.2) Copyright of artwork does not transfer to client when purchased, the sale is for ownership of artwork only. Artist retains all rights to the artwork and progress sketches including reproduction rights and licensing rights.
  • (3.3) All original artworks and reproduction prints are for personal use only. Client cannot use the artwork for commercial use without written permission from the artist. No copies of the artwork shall be made or reproduced in any form to make profit. Client shall not claim the artwork as their own, client shall not remove the artist signature from the artwork, client shall not alter the artwork in any way and shall not use or sell for advertising or any NFT (Non-Fungible Token) cryptocurrency without express written permission from the artist. Any unauthorised use of content including artwork is strictly prohibited. The artist has the right to claim for any damages.

(4) Upfront First Payment

  • 50% upfront non-refundable payment is to be paid to us via PayPal, an invoice will be sent to client to make payment. Once payment has been received and cleared work can then begin. If payment has not been made before the start date is due the clients commission will be cancelled for non-correspondence. This payment covers the artists time spent communicating with client, purchasing art supplies, materials and for time spent working on the clients commission.

(5) Right To Cancel

  • Client may cancel their commission from the moment they requested it please notify us as soon as possible. However, if their commission has already started we reserve the right to retain the 50% first payment and the artwork. We have the right to either destroy the artwork or finish it and sell the finished piece to someone else to make up the loss. Once a commission has been dispatched it cannot be returned for change of mind unless significant damage has occured whilst in transit. If a commission arrives damaged we may be able to redraw it free of charge, however, the replacement commission will be placed on a waiting list or we can provide a refund if the client is entitled to one.

(6) Timescale

  • 2-3 weeks (per drawing). Commissions cannot be extended after this time as another commission may be due to start.

(7) Sketch Approval

  • (7.1) We will send a low-res watermarked work in progress sketch photo to client via email for feedback where 2 adjustments can be made for free, a charge of £12 will apply per any additional adjustments, we will only allow up to 2 additional adjustments to be made. Only at pencil stage can an adjustment be made, due to the nature of permanent ink no adjustments can be made once the ink is applied to the artwork, the client can either accept the artwork as is or cancel the commission. Once the sketch has been approved by the client, no further changes can be applied to the artwork.
  • (7.2) If client prefers not to see progress sketches and only wants to see the finished artwork they must state this on the commission form.

(8) Finished Artwork Approval

  • We will send a low-res watermarked photo of the finished artwork to client for approval, no changes can be made to the finished artwork. If client rejects approval of the finished artwork, the clients commission will be cancelled and final payment will be scrapped.

(9) Final Payment

  • Another 50% payment is to be paid to us for completion of artwork, we will send an email to client shortly after final approval is made with PayPal invoice. If payment has not been made within 5 working days from the date of invoice sent, the clients commission will be cancelled for non-correspondence and final payment will be scrapped. Please keep in mind that the artwork cannot be stored for a long period of time due to limited space and cannot be waited on until client is ready to pay up. Client must ensure they have final payment ready when we reach out before it can be dispatched. If no response is made we reserve the right to retain the 50% first payment and the artwork. We have the right to either destroy the artwork or finish it and sell the finished piece to someone else to make up the loss. If client decides to commission us at a later date, they will need to pay another 50% upfront non-refundable first payment to us and they will be placed at the end of the waiting list.
